Position: System Analyst

Rate: $50 CAD per hour
Role Overview
We are seeking a Systems Analyst specializing in Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) to ensure our systems, applications, and infrastructure meet the highest performance, security, usability, and reliability standards. This role serves as a technical bridge between business stakeholders, development teams, and IT operations, focusing heavily on the performance and stability of our Core Banking Platform.
Key Responsibilities
Performance & Security Monitoring
- Review IT infrastructure and monitor security tools to identify risks and performance bottlenecks.
Requirements Elicitation & Documentation
- Identify, define, and document NFRs, including system capacity, uptime, response times, and compliance needs.
System Testing & Quality Assurance
- Define requirements for load testing, stress testing, security scanning, and other performance-related tests.
Proactive Monitoring
- Use observability platforms such as Grafana, Microsoft App Insights, and Splunkto monitor applications, databases, servers, and networks.
Alert Management
- Configure, maintain, and optimize alert thresholds to ensure effective notification and minimal false positives.
Incident Management
- Review and enhance current troubleshooting, escalation, and businesscommunication processes.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure systems comply with legal, regulatory, and internal standards related to data integrity, security, and accessibility.
Technical Optimization
- Analyze system configurations and logs to identify performance issues and recommend/implement optimizations.
Automation
- Recommend scripts for automating routine maintenance, reporting, and data extraction.
Documentation
- Create and maintain SOPs, playbooks, and knowledge base articles.
Collaboration
- Work with Core Banking, QA, DevOps, Observability, Command Centre, and development teams to ensure proper monitoring before and after deployments.
Contingency Planning
- Review disaster recovery and business continuity plans and provide improvement recommendations.

- Performance & Scalability:Response times, throughput, growth handling
- Security:Data protection, vulnerability assessment, risk management
- Reliability & Availability:Uptime, failover capabilities, redundancy
- Usability & Maintainability:Ease of use, ease of system support
Required Technical Skills & Experience
Monitoring Tools
- Experience with Splunk, Grafana, Microsoft App Insights
Infrastructure Knowledge
- Strong understanding of Windows/Linux OS, servers, and middleware
Scripting & Querying
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, PowerShell, and automation scripting
Cloud & Network
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, LAN/WAN, firewalls, and network components
ITIL Framework
- Understanding of incident, problem, and change management processes
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Expertise:Strong IT foundation across databases, OS, network protocols, and system architecture
- Analytical Skills:Ability to analyze complex systems and conduct root cause analysis
- Documentation:Skilled in producing technical reports and documentation
- Collaboration:Ability to work effectively with developers, project teams, and stakeholders
