Summary

A well-established logistics and security services organization is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to lead enterprise-level physical security deployments across a nationwide infrastructure. In this role, you will configure, install, and maintain IP-based video management, access control, and intrusion detection systems — bridging the gap between IT operations and physical security to ensure high availability and compliance at every site. Day-to-day, you will collaborate with internal IT and security teams, provide technical guidance to field engineers, and participate directly in onsite customer engagements. This is a hands-on, independent role with meaningful scope: you will drive large-scale camera migrations and site expansion projects from design through completion, all while maintaining meticulous documentation and upholding industry security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure, install, and maintain enterprise-level access control, video management, and intrusion detection systems across multiple facilities to ensure continuous, secure operations.

  • Manage and administer IP-based video management platforms, including system health monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization across fiber and copper network infrastructure.

  • Collaborate closely with IT and physical security teams to support large-scale camera migration initiatives and site expansion projects from scoping through go-live.

  • Serve as a technical resource for internal field engineers and technicians, providing expert guidance on system configuration, troubleshooting, and escalations.

  • Participate in onsite customer and stakeholder meetings, communicating technical requirements, project status, and recommendations with clarity and professionalism.

  • Produce and maintain accurate as-built drawings, system documentation, and project records using Microsoft Visio and related Office tools, ensuring compliance with UL, NFPA, and ISO standards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on, enterprise-level experience with access control, video management, and intrusion detection systems in a multi-site or distributed environment.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Lenel OnGuard for access control administration and ExacqVision for IP-based video management — both platforms are used daily in this role.

  • Solid working knowledge of IP networking fundamentals including VLANs, PoE, subnetting, and network security principles as they apply to physical security infrastructure.

  • Familiarity with both fiber and copper cabling infrastructure, including the ability to support and troubleshoot connectivity across mixed network environments.

  • Strong documentation skills with hands-on experience using Microsoft Visio for as-built drawings and Microsoft Excel for project tracking and reporting.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage competing priorities effectively, and exercise sound judgment when troubleshooting complex system issues without escalation.

Role Details:

  • Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (occasional after-hours availability required for project work and system maintenance)

  • Location: Houston, TX 77042 (on-site, with occasional travel to branch and datacenter locations)

If you are a self-directed security systems professional with deep expertise in enterprise access control and video management platforms and a track record of delivering complex, multi-site deployments, we encourage you to apply for this high-impact opportunity.
