Job Description
We are hiring Cable Technicians for projects throughout Ames & Des Moines, IA. Cable Technicians will travel 2-3 times each month to states including: South Carolina, Indianapolis, Colorado and more. The position will allow candidates with little to no experience to come in and grow their career in Data Center/Telecommunication/Network/Information Technology. There is opportunity to move into higher-level, technical roles as technicians gain more experience.
Duties

• Support school districts, apartment complexes, and business units.
• Maintain physical infrastructure and structured cabling.
• Receive direction from team lead and work accordingly.
• Dig trenches and perform directional drilling.
• Install data racks and cabinets for schools and apartment buildings.
• Handle CAT, COAX and Fiber both indoor and outdoor.
• Maintain safety and wear attire according to standards.
• Some travel required (Per Diem is included for travel).
• Organize, protect, verify, and document network cabling through faceplate, testing, and labeling.
• Ensure networks are functional, reliable, and easy to maintain.
• Help set up DIRECTV cable boxes, modems, and satellite dishes.
• Build out server closets for network setups.

Work Environment

• This work is going to be both inside and outside.
• Schools and apartment buildings.
• Physical, labor intensive.
• Travel and overnights.
• Food and Lodging are paid for by the company, no out of pocket expense.
• $25-$50/day per diem.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
