Responsibilities:
Understands business objectives and problems, identifies alternative solutions, performs studies and cost/benefit analysis of alternatives. Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing computer system: Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements, such as forms of data input, how data is to be; summarized, and formats for reports. Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer program. Reviews computer system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.
Mandatory Skills:
- 8 years- Experience in IT, supporting the design, development, deployment, or delivery of technology solutions.
- 8 years- Experience using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) to migrate data from Oracle to AWS.
- 8 years- Experience with batch and real-time data ingestion, including full loads, Change Data Capture (CDC), and streaming architectures.
- 8 years- Experience with AWS cloud services, specifically designing and implementing infrastructure and networking (VPC, subnets, security groups, routing).
- 8 years- Experience with core AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda) and infrastructure-as-code tools (CloudFormation or Terraform).
- 8 years- Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data integration methodologies in cloud migration projects.
- 8 years- Experience with scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- 8 years- Experience configuring and managing cloud network security, including VPNs, Direct Connect, and security groups.
- 8 years- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail).
- 8 years- Experience developing data migration and cutover plans, including rollback strategies and minimizing downtime.
- 8 years- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including documenting technical designs and migration runbooks.
- 8 years- Experience with hybrid cloud/on-premises connectivity and legacy system modernization.
Desirable Skills:
- 4 years- AWS certification(s) such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Database Specialty.
- 1 year- Experience working in public sector or state government environments.
