Senior Software Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is seeking an experienced Software Engineer/Full Stack Developer to design, build, and maintain secure, scalable software solutions. This role is responsible for contributing across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, architecture and design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing system optimization. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on technical expertise, a passion for modern development practices, and the ability to collaborate across teams while contributing to high-quality, standards-driven solutions.

Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack software applications aligned with business and technical requirements
* Participate in requirements analysis, system design, documentation, error and exception handling, and business process implementation
* Build and support secure, cloud-based application architectures using modern full-stack technologies
* Maintain and enhance existing systems utilizing DevOps principles and test-driven development practices
* Design and implement integrations using web services and APIs, including SOAP-based and distributed system integrations
* Optimize relational databases through efficient SQL design, performance tuning, caching strategies, and read/write optimizations
* Utilize DevOps tools and processes for source control, CI/CD, issue tracking, and deployment workflows
* Configure and support application server environments, including Apache Tomcat, for Java-based web applications
* Apply application security best practices, including SSL/TLS configuration and encryption methodologies
* Participate in or lead code reviews, providing guidance and mentorship to other developers
* Contribute to and enforce development standards, coding guidelines, and documentation best practices
* Perform peer reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with technical standards

REQUIREMENTS:
* Proven experience delivering web-based and full-stack software solutions
* Experience working within Agile, Waterfall, RUP, or similar development methodologies
* Strong object-oriented programming skills
* Hands-on experience designing and implementing APIs and modern application architectures

Strong experience in one or more of the following technical areas:
* Java and web application development (JSP, Servlets, JDBC)
* Web services and API development
* Front-end frameworks and technologies (Angular, React, React Native, Vue.js, HTML, JSON)
* Relational database development (Oracle, DB2, or similar), including SQL and PL/SQL
* Application servers such as Apache Tomcat, WebSphere, or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with enterprise content management or digital experience platforms (e.g., Adobe AEM or similar)
* UI/UX design and front-end development experience
* Familiarity with web accessibility standards and ADA compliance
* Java/J2EE and Oracle-based technology stack experience
* Knowledge of secure coding practices and OWASP principles
* Experience configuring and managing CI/CD pipelines
* Familiarity with source control systems (Git or SVN) and build/deployment tools (Maven, Jenkins, Gradle)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
