Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced API Developer to join a high-impact engineering team responsible for managing and modernizing enterprise-wide API traffic. This role is central to accelerating the migration from Apigee Edge to Apigee X/Hybrid, helping the organization scale its API infrastructure. The position requires a hands-on developer who can drive delivery and brings expertise in API gateway technologies and migration efforts in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy API proxies using Apigee.
- Develop and configure Apigee policies, traffic management rules, scripts, and API workflows.
- Lead and support API migration efforts from Apigee Edge to Apigee X or Hybrid versions.
- Partner with engineering teams to define and implement API best practices and standards.
- Troubleshoot and optimize API performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with distributed teams, including onshore and offshore resources.
- Consult on API best practices, focusing on development and engineering rather than primary support or testing duties.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of Hands-on experience with Apigee Edge.
- Hands-on experience with Apigee X or Apigee Hybrid.
- Proven experience with API gateway migration projects.
- Deep understanding of API design, development, RESTful services, and web APIs.
- Knowledge of API security and traffic management principles.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.
- Collaboration skills for working in a globally distributed team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in financial services or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with enterprise-scale API ecosystems and high-volume traffic.
