Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer II to join our team in Santa Clara, California. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in materials characterization, battery cell design, and electrochemical performance analysis. This role involves working on cutting-edge technologies to design and develop advanced silicon anode materials for lithium-ion batteries, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the scaling up of innovative materials and processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth materials characterization and failure analysis (FA) on silicon anode materials and battery cells.
  • Design and develop advanced silicon anode materials for lithium-ion batteries.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to scale up promising materials and processes.
  • Analyze electrochemical performance metrics, degradation mechanisms, and material interfaces.
  • Utilize materials characterization tools such as SEM, TEM, XRD, XPS, and Raman spectroscopy.
  • Work on battery cell design, prototyping, and testing protocols.
  • Collaborate across materials science, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams.
  • Apply excellent problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in materials science, chemical engineering, electrochemistry, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant industry or academic research experience.
  • Deep understanding of electrochemical performance metrics, degradation mechanisms, and material interfaces.
  • Hands-on experience with materials characterization tools (e.g., SEM, TEM, XRD, XPS, Raman).
  • Familiarity with battery cell design, prototyping, and testing protocols.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Range: $50- $52/hr W2
