The CompanyLawrence Harvey is partnering exclusively with a leading health tech company to hire its first Lead Data Product Manager. Our client is a leading health tech platform in post-acute care, connecting major health systems, health plans and care providers nationwide. Its platform is used by hundreds of thousands of clinicians across all 50 states and has helped millions of patients get the care they need at home.
After more than a decade of growth, the company holds one of the most comprehensive datasets in post-acute care. It is now building a dedicated data business to turn that asset into new products and revenue.
About the roleThis is a greenfield role: the first data product hire on a new revenue line. You will own the customer-facing reporting and analytics platform and turn the company's data into new commercial products. You will set the thesis, test demand and decide which route to market makes sense, whether that's upselling existing customers, data licensing, going direct to market, or a mix.
You'll work closely with a dedicated data engineering team, which is modernizing the platform on Databricks, and partner with account teams, Sales, Partnerships, Finance, Legal and the executive team.
What you'll do
Strategy and research
- Set the strategy and sequenced roadmap for customer-facing analytics and new 0-to-1 data products: what to build, defer or decline
- Make the case to the exec team and board with a clear thesis, not a feature list
- Own the north-star metric, leading indicators and the criteria for continuing or stopping a bet
- Use customer discovery, market sizing and pilots to validate opportunities and prove demand
- Lead delivery end to end, from customer needs to clear requirements, release slices, launch and iteration
- Build shared reporting and self-service analytics with consistent metrics, delivered through dashboards, APIs, feeds or datasets
- Make trade-offs with engineering on data freshness, quality, access and build vs. buy
- Partner with Sales, Partnerships, Marketing and Finance on packaging, pricing, positioning and go-to-market
- Treat privacy and compliance as core design constraints, working with Legal, Compliance and Security on HIPAA, de-identification, data-use agreements and customer terms
- A 0-to-1 data product builder. You've taken a product from an established dataset to commercial launch, and you can explain the thesis, the bets you made and the revenue that resulted.
- Experienced in health or regulated data. You've worked with healthcare, life sciences or other regulated-industry data, and you know your way around HIPAA, de-identification and data-use agreements (or can show you get up to speed fast).
- Commercially sharp. You build the market model yourself, know which assumptions drive the outcome and don't confuse a large addressable market with proven demand.
- Technically fluent. You can read a schema and work credibly with data engineers on quality, definitions and access controls, without needing to be an engineer yourself.
- Close to the customer. You run discovery and pilots directly with customers and can hold your own with a buyer's procurement team.
- A strong communicator. You lead through influence and are as comfortable with engineers as you are presenting to the exec team and board.
- AI-forward. You use AI tools in your day-to-day work, from analysis to prototyping.
- Mission-driven. You care about improving patient outcomes and see a data business as a meaningful way to do it.
- Experience at a real-world evidence, health data or life sciences data company
- Data partnerships, joint datasets or brokered data arrangements
- Experience as the first product hire on a new revenue line
- Startup or high-growth company experience
- Build a data business from the ground up, with real ownership of strategy, pricing and the first products to market
- Work with one of the richest proprietary datasets in post-acute care
- Join a company that already operates at national scale, so the bet is on the product, not on survival
- Get direct exposure to the executive team and board from day one
- Work remotely (or hybrid in NYC if preferred), with a clear mission to help patients get care at home
