Pay Rate = $50 w2 per hour
Work Environment:
· This is a full-time, on-site position based in Oklahoma City, OK, supporting a 24x7 enterprise production environment with on-call responsibilities.
Position Summary:
Merge IT is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Support Engineer to provide on-site support for an enterprise data center engagement. This role is responsible for the operations, maintenance, monitoring, and break/fix support of legacy and mission-critical platforms including IBM AS/400 (IBM i), IBM storage, HPE 3PAR storage, and HPE NonStop systems. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on expertise across heterogeneous infrastructure and thrives in a high-availability, enterprise production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide L2/L3 support, administration, and break/fix services for IBM AS/400 (IBM i / Power Systems) environments, including OS upgrades, PTFs, subsystem management, and job scheduling.
· Administer and maintain IBM storage platforms (e.g., DS8000, FlashSystem/Storwize, SAN Volume Controller), including provisioning, replication, and capacity management.
· Manage and support HPE 3PAR / Primera storage arrays, including LUN provisioning, zoning, remote copy, performance tuning, and firmware management.
· Operate and support HPE NonStop (Tandem) systems, including Guardian/OSS environments, TACL, subsystem monitoring, and fault-tolerant configuration management.
· Monitor infrastructure health, respond to alerts, and resolve incidents within defined SLAs.
· Perform root cause analysis, document resolutions, and maintain runbooks and operational procedures.
· Coordinate with OEM vendors (IBM, HPE) for hardware failures, warranty, and escalations.
· Support patching, firmware updates, backup/recovery operations, and change management activities.
· Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as required for the production environment.
Required Qualifications:
· 5+ years of enterprise infrastructure support experience in a production data center environment.
· Hands-on administration of IBM AS/400 (IBM i) on Power Systems.
· Experience with IBM enterprise storage platforms (DS8000, FlashSystem, Storwize, or SVC).
· Experience administering HPE 3PAR / Primera storage arrays.
· Working knowledge of HPE NonStop (Tandem) systems and the Guardian operating environment.
· Strong understanding of SAN concepts (fabric, zoning, multipathing, replication).
· Familiarity with ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management processes.
· Ability to work on-site in Oklahoma City and participate in on-call rotation.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Relevant certifications (IBM Certified System Administrator – i, HPE storage/NonStop certifications).
· Scripting experience (CL, shell, PowerShell) for automation.
· Experience supporting large retail or pharmacy enterprise environments.
· Experience working within an MSP or third-party managed services delivery model.
