Seeking a dependable, detail-focused Mobile Lab Testing Technician to support environmental assessment and hazard identification projects throughout an assigned territory. This field-based position combines on-site inspections, sample collection, laboratory testing, and technical reporting to help clients make informed decisions about environmental risks in residential, commercial, and other building environments.

Working with restoration contractors, environmental abatement providers, and insurance companies, the technician will help identify potential contaminants, evaluate testing results, and provide clear documentation to support remediation and compliance efforts. Success in this role requires sound technical judgment, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently while meeting client expectations and project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Field Sampling & Assessments: Travel to client locations throughout the assigned territory to inspect buildings, collect environmental samples, and assess potential asbestos, mold, and lead hazards.

Testing & Analysis: Conduct on-site testing and analyze collected samples using approved methods, appropriate equipment, and established laboratory procedures.

Results Interpretation: Evaluate findings to determine the presence and potential extent of environmental contamination, ensuring conclusions are supported by accurate data.

Technical Reporting: Prepare clear, thorough reports documenting inspection findings, sampling methods, test results, and recommended next steps. Deliver reports within required timeframes.

Client Coordination: Communicate with restoration contractors, abatement specialists, insurance representatives, and other project stakeholders to clarify testing needs, explain findings, and resolve questions.

Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Follow established safety practices and applicable industry requirements, including relevant OSHA, EPA, and state-specific regulations.

Equipment Maintenance: Keep testing instruments and laboratory equipment properly maintained and calibrated to support dependable, accurate results.

Supply Management: Monitor sampling materials, testing supplies, and equipment inventory; identify shortages and communicate purchasing needs.

Documentation & Quality Control: Maintain complete records of field observations, sample handling, testing activities, and analytical results in accordance with established procedures.

Professional Development: Stay informed about evolving environmental testing standards, regulatory requirements, and industry practices. Participate in training to maintain and expand technical expertise.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, biology, or a related discipline preferred.

Prior experience conducting asbestos, mold, and lead assessments or testing in a laboratory, field services, or environmental consulting environment.

Relevant industry credentials strongly preferred, such as NIOSH 582, ACAC CIEC, and/or EPA AHERA certification.

Working knowledge of applicable environmental health and safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards and state-specific requirements.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to consistently follow technical procedures and sampling protocols.

Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate findings and interpret testing data accurately.
