Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support, troubleshoot Windows workstations, manage endpoint configurations, and support enterprise desktop environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Windows operating systems, Active Directory, Mobile Device Management (MDM), endpoint security, imaging and deployment, networking, and advanced technical troubleshooting.

This role requires onsite support in a professional enterprise environment and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide desktop support, troubleshooting, and resolution for hardware, software, operating system, and connectivity issues.

  • Support Windows workstation environments, including operating system configuration, deployment, and maintenance.

  • Manage Active Directory accounts, groups, permissions, and Group Policy configurations.

  • Support Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions and endpoint configuration policies.

  • Perform Windows image deployment and workstation provisioning using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT).

  • Troubleshoot VPN connectivity, multifactor authentication (MFA/2FA), and network printing issues.

  • Apply endpoint security controls, including antivirus, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), hard drive encryption, and security hardening.

  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues involving DHCP, VLANs, access control lists (ACLs), and firewalls.

  • Develop and use PowerShell scripts to automate support tasks and improve operational efficiency.

  • Follow cybersecurity best practices, organizational security standards, and applicable compliance requirements.

  • Research, analyze, plan, test, and implement desktop technology solutions.

  • Document technical issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.


Required Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in desktop support or a related IT support engineering role.

  • At least 3 years of experience with Windows desktop operating systems, including Windows 7 and Windows 10, and 64-bit environments.

  • At least 3 years of experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.

  • At least 3 years of experience with Active Directory administration and Group Policy.

  • At least 3 years of experience with networking fundamentals, including DHCP, VLANs, ACLs, and firewalls.

  • At least 3 years of experience with endpoint security tools, antivirus, PKI, disk encryption, and security hardening.

  • Experience with Windows image deployment using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT).

  • Experience troubleshooting VPN, multifactor authentication, and network printing.

  • Experience with PowerShell or another scripting language; PowerShell is preferred.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Experience supporting Intel-based workstation hardware and associated operating systems.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Windows-related certifications.

  • Experience working in a large enterprise or government IT environment.

  • Experience with endpoint security and cybersecurity compliance practices.


Work Requirements

  • Must be able to work onsite in New York, NY

  • Must be available for an in-person interview.

  • Candidates should be prepared to discuss hands-on desktop support, endpoint management, Windows deployment, and troubleshooting experience.
