Position Overview

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking an experienced Senior Automation Tester to support QA and testing activities for the Managed Care Transition Project.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Testing

• Assess the testability of business and technical requirements.

• Develop comprehensive test cases based on Business Requirements and Software Design Documents.

• Execute functional, integration, and regression testing.

• Review, analyze, and report test results.

• Identify, document, and track defects throughout the testing lifecycle.

• Support comprehensive QA activities for critical State applications.

• Perform testing of web-based applications.

• Support user acceptance testing and ensure testing activities are thorough and complete.

Test Automation

• Develop and maintain automated test suites.

• Create and execute automated testing scripts.

• Utilize TOSCA for automated testing activities.

• Support automation initiatives to improve testing efficiency and coverage.

Database & SQL Testing

• Develop SQL queries for testing and data validation.

• Validate application data and backend processing.

• Use SQL to support QA analysis and troubleshooting.

Test & Defect Management

• Work with Test and Defect Management tools.

• Utilize tools such as HP ALM and JIRA for test and defect tracking.

• Review and report testing results.

• Ensure defects are properly documented, tracked, and communicated.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience assessing requirement testability and developing test cases based on Business Requirements and Software Design Documents.

• 5+ years of experience executing functional, integration, and regression testing.

• 3+ years of experience reviewing, analyzing, and reporting test results.

• 3+ years of experience testing web applications.

• 2+ years of experience developing SQL queries.

• 2+ years of experience conducting QA and testing on EDI applications.

• 2+ years of experience with TOSCA Automated Testing Tool.

• 1+ year of experience scripting automated test suites.

• 2+ years of experience working with business teams to create Business and QA documentation.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize concurrent deadlines.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with HP ALM.

• Experience with JIRA.

• Experience with healthcare claims processing testing.

• Knowledge of Agile methodology.

• Experience presenting testing results to both technical and business audiences.
