Data Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Irving, TX that is seeking a Data Engineer.

Responsibilities:
* Build, maintain, and enhance scalable batch and near-real-time data pipelines using Python, SQL, and Spark/PySpark
* Integrate data from applications, operational systems, APIs, event streams, and other sources into reliable, analysis-ready datasets
* Develop data transformations across structured and semi-structured data sources
* Create and maintain data models and curated datasets supporting analytics, reporting, machine learning, and application workflows
* Partner with technical teams to develop data interfaces and support AI/ML and advanced analytics use cases
* Implement data quality checks, reconciliation processes, monitoring, and alerting to ensure data accuracy and reliability
* Troubleshoot pipeline failures and performance issues while supporting retries, backfills, and incremental processing
* Optimize data processing solutions for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
* Collaborate with product, analytics, data science, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into practical data solutions
* Follow established data security, privacy, access control, and retention requirements
* Develop maintainable and tested code, participate in code reviews and CI/CD processes, and maintain technical documentation

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
* 3-5 years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related technical role
* Strong proficiency with Python and SQL
* Experience with Spark/PySpark or similar distributed data processing technologies
* Experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines within cloud environments such as Azure or AWS
* Understanding of data modeling, relational databases, data lakes, data warehouses, and incremental processing
* Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Databricks Workflows, or similar technologies
* Familiarity with streaming or event-driven data processing concepts
* Experience with Git, automated testing, monitoring, and production troubleshooting
* Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to independently manage assigned work

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
