Key Responsibilities:
- Support, maintain, and enhance network security across firewalls, SD-WAN, IT, OT, and core network infrastructure
- Partner closely with the SecOps team to maintain a secure and compliant environment
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, and security policies
- Support routing, switching, wireless, and firewall technologies across the enterprise
- Monitor network performance and security, proactively identifying risks and recommending improvements
- Collaborate with other IT teams to support infrastructure initiatives and ongoing operations
Required Skills:
- 8+ years of network engineering experience (architecture and design experience preferred)
- Hands-on configuration, deployment, and ongoing support of Palo Alto firewalls
- Experience troubleshooting complex security and firewall-related incidents
- Strong understanding of firewall policies, intrusion detection/prevention, QoS, VPNs, and DMZ architectures
- Experience deploying or supporting Palo Alto SD-WAN
- Strong Cisco routing and switching background
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools
- Experience supporting multi-site, enterprise environments
- Experience working closely with Security Operations (SecOps) teams
- Hands-on experience with:
- Firewalls and intrusion detection
- Zero Trust security concepts (deployment experience preferred)
- Least Privilege security models
- User authentication and access control
- VPN configurations and secure remote access
Desired Skills:
- Prior greenfield Palo Alto deployments strongly preferred
- Experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
- Azure cloud networking preferred (managing IP space and virtual Palo Alto firewalls)
- Manufacturing environment experience
- Experience with SolarWinds and ServiceNow
- Certifications:
- Palo Alto certifications (top preference)
- Security-focused certifications
- Cisco certifications (CCNA / CCNP)
