Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Azure Infrastructure Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Azure, Terraform, Terragrunt, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and platform engineering.
The ideal candidate will enhance an existing enterprise IaC platform by expanding Terraform modules, strengthening automation and governance, and building AI-enabled infrastructure self-service capabilities.
This is a highly hands-on role focused on Terraform at scale, Azure infrastructure automation, CI/CD, GitOps, developer self-service, and AI-assisted infrastructure provisioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain reusable Terraform and Terragrunt modules for Azure infrastructure.
- Expand and standardize the organization's Terraform module library with secure defaults, naming, tagging, and policy guardrails.
- Improve existing IaC frameworks for scalability, reliability, maintainability, and consistency.
- Implement TFLint, validation, automated testing, and pre-merge quality checks.
- Build and maintain CI/CD and GitOps pipelines for infrastructure deployments.
- Develop an AI-enabled infrastructure self-service platform using MCP (Model Context Protocol).
- Configure AI agent skills, context, and guardrails for tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot.
- Enable developers to generate compliant infrastructure using approved Terraform modules and organizational standards.
- Integrate infrastructure deployment workflows with ServiceNow for change requests, approvals, and CMDB updates.
- Build developer self-service workflows and golden paths using Port.io or similar internal developer platforms.
- Develop automation using PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
- Manage Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, identity, access, and authentication following least-privilege principles.
- Implement policy-as-code and infrastructure security controls.
- Partner with development and platform teams to improve developer experience and eliminate infrastructure provisioning bottlenecks.
- Ensure infrastructure automation is secure, scalable, reliable, compliant, and production-ready.

A major part of this role is building an AI-powered infrastructure self-service experience.
The engineer will help create an MCP-based platform that allows developers to use Claude Code or GitHub Copilot to:
Discover approved Terraform modules
Understand infrastructure standards and policies
Generate Terraform configurations
Provision compliant Azure infrastructure
Follow organizational security and governance requirements
Use standardized developer golden paths
Hands-on MCP/GenAI experience is highly preferred but not mandatory if the candidate has strong Terraform, Azure, platform engineering, and automation experience.
