Talend Platform Engineer
Location: Wayne, PA (Hybrid), remote work is possible if the candidate is the best fit.

Role Overview
The Talend Platform Engineer is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Talend platform and supporting data infrastructure. This role focuses on platform operations, upgrades, security, and governance rather than day-to-day ETL development. The successful candidate will work closely with Talend development teams, infrastructure teams, and vendors to ensure a stable, secure, and performant platform environment.
Skills & Experience
<>Essential>
Strong experience administering Talend platforms (Studio, Management Console, Remote Engines).
Experience with platform upgrades, patching, and release management.
Familiarity with Citrix or similar virtual desktop environments.
Understanding of data platform architecture and integration patterns.
Experience with vendor and license management.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
<>Desirable>
Experience with Snowflake and/or Databricks administration.
AWS cloud experience (S3, IAM, EC2, Lambda, Glue).
Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform, CloudFormation).
ITIL or similar service management experience.
Key Duties
<>Talend Platform Administration & Maintenance>
Lead Talend platform upgrades, including Talend Studio version upgrades and coordination with development teams on code compatibility.
Upgrade and maintain Talend Remote Engine software across environments.
Evaluate, test, and roll out new Talend features and capabilities to the organisation.
Maintain platform health, monitoring, and alerting.
<>Talend Management Console Administration>
Administer user access, roles, and license assignments within Talend Management Console.
Manage workspaces, projects, and environment configurations.
Troubleshoot and resolve platform-level issues and user access problems.
<>Environment & Access Management>
Manage Talend Studio deployment and access via Citrix environments.
Administer shared drives and coordinate database access provisioning for Talend users.
Ensure appropriate segregation of development, test, and production environments.
<>Vendor & Commercial Management>
Manage vendor relationships with Talend and related service providers.
Oversee contract renewals, license compliance, and invoice processing.
Coordinate with procurement and finance on platform-related expenditure.
<>Support & Escalation Management>
Provide second and third-line support for platform issues.
Manage escalations to Talend support and track issues through to resolution.
Document known issues, workarounds, and resolution procedures.
Ancillary Duties
<>Cloud & Data Platform Support>
Manage and optimise Snowflake environments, including warehouses, roles, security policies, and resource governance.

Support and administer Databricks workspaces, clusters, jobs, and Delta Lake environments.
Manage AWS cloud infrastructure, including S3, IAM, EC2, Lambda, Glue, CloudWatch, and networking components
- <>Infrastructure as Code & Automation>
Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation) for AWS, Snowflake, and Databricks resources.
Drive automation to reduce manual operations and improve deployment consistency.
- <>Security & Governance>
Implement platform-level security, governance, and compliance controls across all environments.
Ensure adherence to organisational data security policies and regulatory requirements.
