Job Duration: 8 Months

• Plans, designs, develops, and maintains software for satellite ground systems.

Responsibilities:
• Work within the Mission Control System (MCS) domain of the Client Ground System for earth observation satellites.
• Report to an Agile Manager and collaborate with:
o System Engineers
o Operations Engineers
o Spacecraft Engineers
o Space Vehicle Operators
o Scrum Masters
o Product Owners
• Contribute as a member of an agile scrum team developing next-gen, cloud-based satellite ground system software.
• Deliver high-quality, operational and test code on schedule, adhering to designs, acceptance criteria, and corporate standards.
• Provide demonstrations and documentation of functionality.

Responsibilities
• Design and develop operational code for new features and defect repairs.
• Develop automated unit, functional, and integration tests.
• Demonstrate and document functionality and test results.
• Troubleshoot operational issues.
• Support deadlines and communicate issues/results.
• Participate in Communities of Practice to improve best practices.

Basic Qualifications (Must Have)
• Minimum 5 years of software development experience with complex systems.
• Computer Science or Engineering degree (or equivalent experience).
• Expertise in Python for web services (Django) and scripting.
• Expertise in Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL, CENTOS/AL3).
• Expertise with API concepts (REST/JSON/YAML).
• Experience with test automation frameworks (Cucumber, Gherkin, Behave).
• Expertise with Matlab.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
• Experience with build and deploy technologies (K8S, Docker, Jenkins, Helm, Terraform).
• Experience with RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch.
• Expertise with Ruby and Go programming languages.
• Experience in hybrid cloud networks.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Aerospace and/or Satellite Ground Systems.
• Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.
• Experience with operational support of complex microservice-based systems .
