Summary

Oracle EPM Technical Administrator

Start Date: ASAP, subject to onboarding Duration: 6 months initially, with potential extension Location: 100% Remote Europe-based candidates only Preferred Region: Ireland, United Kingdom, or other European locations able to work Ireland/UK business hours Industry: Enterprise Finance / Oracle EPM Cloud Employment Type: Contract

Position Overview

A Mako Professionals client is seeking a hands-on Oracle EPM Technical Administrator to strengthen support of an established Oracle EPM Cloud environment. This is not a new implementation. The consultant will supplement the existing managed services team, resolve production issues, and independently deliver smaller application enhancements that otherwise require external change requests.

The heaviest volume of incidents and enhancements is within the Oracle EPM Planning applications, making practical Planning administration and configuration experience especially important.

Production support for financial close and active budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning cycles takes precedence over routine improvements.

Candidates must currently reside in Europe and consistently support Ireland/UK business hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily Oracle EPM Cloud production support across Planning and related applications; triage incidents and support tickets, investigate root causes, and implement fixes.

  • Troubleshoot Planning application issues, including data movement between cubes, business rules, member/hierarchy errors, and failed jobs or data loads.

  • Configure and deliver small enhancements, such as updating input forms, modifying business rules, and making application changes generally achievable within days rather than major projects.

  • Support Finance stakeholders during month-end and quarter-end close, budget cycles, forecasts, and long-range planning activities.

  • Monitor, run, and troubleshoot EPM Automate processes, scheduled jobs, and batch activity; escalate complex issues appropriately.

  • Support existing inbound data processes and integrations involving SAP, Workday, flat files/CSV, and APIs; diagnose occasional loading or mapping exceptions.

  • Coordinate with business users, internal technical teams, and an existing managed services provider while taking independent ownership of assigned issues.

Required Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on Oracle EPM Cloud production administration and troubleshooting experience, with substantial experience in Oracle Planning applications.

  • Ability to maintain and configure Planning forms, business rules, data movement, hierarchies, and routine application enhancements.

  • Experience diagnosing failed jobs, data loads, and application incidents and following issues through resolution.

  • Working familiarity with EPM Automate and scheduled processes; advanced script development is beneficial but not essential.

  • Experience supporting Finance users and managing priorities around financial close and planning deadlines.

  • Currently based in Europe and available during Ireland/UK-aligned business hours.

Oracle EPM Environment

The client's existing Oracle EPM Cloud environment includes:

  • Corporate Planning

  • Workforce Planning

  • Capex Planning

  • Commercial Planning

  • Financial Consolidation and Close (FCCS)

  • Tax Reporting

  • Enterprise Data Management (EDM)

  • Narrative Reporting

Existing integrations and batch processes include SAP-originated data, Workday workforce data, flat-file/CSV feeds, APIs, and scheduled EPM Automate jobs.

Preferred Experience
  • Exposure to Groovy scripting or similar application rule development for smaller improvements.

  • Experience with FCCS, Tax Reporting, EDM, or Narrative Reporting in addition to Planning.

  • Troubleshooting existing SAP/Workday integrations and scheduled data flows in a complex enterprise EPM environment.

  • Experience augmenting an existing support provider or working independently in a high-volume ticket environment.
