Role Overview
We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our team. The role involves working independently and within teams to prepare, clean, normalize, and validate data for various projects. This position requires designing and developing visualization solutions, building scalable models using data science and artificial intelligence methods, and translating complex technical findings into easily understood narratives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and adapt mathematical, statistical, and other analytical solutions for audit and investigation.
- Lead artificial intelligence activities such as natural language processing and machine learning model development.
- Independently perform data collection and analysis from various sources to develop trends and insights.
- Use relational databases, data lakes, and other environments to create a variety of analytic products.
- Engineer data analytic solutions, including prototyping, proof of concept, and full implementation.
- Coordinate with staff and customers to identify business and technical requirements.
- Produce written documentation for all work, including translating user requirements into technical designs.
- Troubleshoot and provide support on existing projects or application efforts.
- Evaluate, assess, document, and test data security and continuity of operations for systems.
Required Qualifications
Education:- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field is required.
Experience:- Minimum of 5+ years of experience and skill writing coding languages such as SQL, Python, R, and JavaScript.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience working with projects involving machine learning, natural language processing, robotics process automation, artificial intelligence, text and/or data mining, as well as statistical and mathematical methods.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience working with AWS or Azure services such as Databricks, Data Factory, and Data Lake.
Citizenship & Residency:- Must not have traveled outside the US for a combined total of 6 months or more in the last 5 years.
- Must have resided in the US for the last 5 years.
Technical Skills:- Proficiency in common data science tools, including scripted languages (SQL, Python, R), and analytics platforms.
- Knowledge of advanced analytic techniques such as machine learning, natural language processing, and artificial intelligence.
- Knowledge of business intelligence applications and reporting technologies (e.g., Power BI, Power Platform).
- Understanding of concepts supporting relational databases, data warehousing, and data governance.
- Knowledge of ETL strategies, pattern recognition, and application of analytical tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification(s) in a related field of data science and/or data analytics.
- Specialized experience working with programming languages (e.g., Python), business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI), and analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks).
- Knowledge and experience in the law enforcement and/or audit industry.
- Knowledge and experience using cloud computing platforms such as Azure.
- Knowledge and experience with relational databases and structured query language (SQL).
