Senior Cloud Engineer – Kubernetes & IaC (AWS | Remote)
Contract: 6 months (likely extension)
Location: Fully Remote (CST or EST)
Compensation: 80/hr
Senior Cloud Engineer to support a major cloud modernization initiative unifying three cloud environments into a single, scalable, cloud-portable platform.
This is a hands-on execution role focused on Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS CDK (Python). You’ll help migrate large-scale workloads into Kubernetes, modernize infrastructure, and improve multi-region disaster recovery.
What You’ll Do
• Build and operate Kubernetes-based infrastructure (EKS preferred)
• Migrate workloads from ECS/EC2 ? Kubernetes
• Write Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and AWS CDK (Python)
• Design cloud-portable patterns (AWS today, Google Cloud Platform next)
• Support multi-region resiliency and automated failover
• Collaborate with Principal Engineers and Cloud Leadership
• Contribute to standardized tooling across multiple legacy environments
Required
• Strong Kubernetes experience (mandatory)
• Terraform for multi-environment automation
• AWS CDK using Python
• 7+ years in Cloud / DevOps / SRE engineering
• Experience supporting production-scale systems
Nice to Have
• EKS, GitOps (Argo, Flux), CI/CD pipelines
• Observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch)
• Google Cloud Platform exposure
• Cloud portability or modernization projects
