Summary

Position: Data Analyst with Data Modelling and Pension/Retirement
Location: Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid) Should be local to NY/NJ within commute
Duration: 1-2 years contract

SCOPE OF SERVICES
Client seeks one (1) Senior Data Analyst with Data Modeling (DM) expertise to work with the Information Technology (IT) team. 
The Senior Data Analyst with Data Modeling expertise will primarily be responsible for detailed field-level analysis, metadata analysis, and profiling of internal and external data sources, as well as the creation of conceptual, logical, physical, and dimensional data models to support ongoing process improvement programs. 

Mandatory Skills/Experience: 
•    Minimum of five (5) years of Source-to-Target Data Mapping experience in mixed Mainframe and Relational Database environments.
•    Experience creating Data Dictionary documentation with business terms, valid values, and definitions. 
•    Experience converting/migrating VSAM data to relational/dimensional SQL distributed databases. 
•    Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience developing applications using IBM DataStage ETL. Experience extracting field references and calculated data from COBOL programs. 
•    Experience with BMC Control-M workload automation software. 
•    Experience with GIT version control software. Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience with Pension Administration systems. 
•    Technical Ability Mandatory: Strong SQL knowledge with experience developing complex queries and stored procedures. 
•    Proficiency in SSRS report development. Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze requirements and propose suitable solutions aligned with team methodologies. Ability to work across multiple environments including IBM Mainframe, Windows Server, and SQL Server. 
•    Proficiency with Mainframe applications including COBOL, CICS, and DB2. 
•    Understanding of data structures and their relationships with ETL applications. 
•    Ability to develop complex SQL data validations based on STTMs and target Data Models. 
•    Excellent analytical, problem-solving, information-gathering, and technical troubleshooting skills. 
•    Desirable Skills/Experience: Experience extracting business rules from existing legacy code. 
•    Experience with Data Quality and Profiling tools. Experience working with Data Warehouses/Data Marts. Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). 
•    Prior experience working with pension systems, preferably New York State or New York City pension systems.

Scope of Services: 
•    The Senior Data Analyst shall provide the Client''s Data Management team with technical expertise for the completion of Data Profiling/Cleansing, Conversion/Migration, and Validation efforts as part of the Legacy Replacement initiative, as well as ongoing process improvement programs. The following deliverables shall apply: Participate in identification, inventory, and classification of critical data. 
•    Work with Data SMEs to document data quality rules and definitions. Actively participate in optimization and performance tuning of existing ETL and SQL processes. Extract business rules from existing Legacy code and create Source-to-Target mappings. Transform business rules and data quality rules into ETL and/or SQL technical specifications. Develop complex SQL data validations based on STTMs and target Data Models. Provide technical and analytical support for data integrity and quality initiatives. 
•    Collaborate with SMEs and technical leads in identifying and addressing data quality gaps. 
•    Work with IT partners to remediate identified gaps using both manual and automated solutions. Support processes that proactively detect, correct, and prevent invalid data values. Perform defect handling and problem resolution.
