Facility Security Officer (FSO)

We are seeking a Facility Security Officer (FSO)/Quality Control (QC) Manager to lead security and compliance operations in accordance with DoD standards. The FSO/QC Manager will maintain classified material handling, COMSEC, personnel security, access control, and quality systems while developing policies, conducting audits, and providing staff training. This role serves as the primary liaison with government agencies, safeguarding sensitive information and maintaining continuous compliance.

This position will support a variety of quality control initiatives and evolving compliance needs across the organization as requirements and regulations continue to evolve. Responsibilities will span industrial security, physical, and cybersecurity efforts including collaboration with IT team on technical controls, managing CUI, policies, and training to ensure ongoing NISPOM, CMMC, QC and contractual compliance.

This position requires an Active Secret Clearance and is 100% on-site in Maynard, MA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain strict NISPOM, DoD and CMMC compliance while applying sound judgment and balanced risk management to safeguard the company and translate regulatory requirements into practical, mission-enabling solutions.
• Ensure COMSEC requirements are followed, including proper marking, safeguarding, and transmission of all materials.
• Manage Access Control Systems and administer JPAS/e-QIP activities, including security clearances and visitor requests.
• Serve as primary contact for DSS reviews, audits, correspondence, and incident review and response.
• Manage, monitor, and continually improve employee training programs.
• Oversee insider threat programs, provide guidance and training to employees on security protocols and risk mitigation strategies to protect sensitive information.
• Support accreditation/reaccreditation of classified and unclassified information systems in collaboration with ISSM, including CMMC compliance, access control, auditing, documentation, and training.
• Support HR with onboarding, offboarding, and training of cleared personnel.
• Update and maintain the Quality Control program, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with organizational and DoD standards.

Required Skills:

• This position requires an Active Secret Clearance; ship is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
• 5+ years experience in Facility Security, COMSEC, Quality Control, and Compliance responsibilities in a similar DoD contractor organization.
• Extensive knowledge of NISPOM, DCSA requirements, Quality Control standards, CMMC compliance, and government security regulations.
• Experience with JPAS and e-Qip systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, DISA STIGs, NIST/DoD standards, and layered security protocols.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in long-term strategic planning.
• Excellent verbal/ written communication and organization skills, and ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.

Salary Range:

The annual salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000 USD. The final salary will be determined based on the selected candidate's education, experience, skills, certifications, and other relevant qualifications, as well as applicable client or government contractual rates.
