The Automated Test Equipment Technician is responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated testing systems used to verify the performance and functionality of electronic products. This role is focused on ensuring high-quality testing of two-way subscriber radio products by executing test programs, identifying failures, and providing repair teams with accurate diagnostic information. This position is best suited for candidates with experience or training in electronics, RF testing, or similar technical education.
The primary responsibilities of this role include testing and analysis, troubleshooting and technical support, and documentation and reporting. The technician will perform testing and analysis on two-way subscriber products, including both mobile and portable radios. This person will work across two automated test equipment lines, follow standard work instructions, and maintain expected throughput levels. Daily responsibilities also include completing ATE maintenance checks, performing basic fixture upkeep, and confirming equipment readiness. The role requires standing and walking for approximately 80 percent of the shift in a fast-paced electronic test environment.
In addition to testing duties, the technician will provide clear and detailed feedback to repair technicians by identifying failure conditions and documenting observations accurately. This role also supports the diagnosis of complex failures by supplying reliable test data and assisting with root cause investigations. Close collaboration with Quality Specialists and Technical Support Management is expected in order to review test results and help drive corrective actions.

Documentation is an important part of the position. The technician will log defects identified during testing into the appropriate systems, record failure data accurately, and prepare basic failure analysis summaries. Clear communication of test results is required, along with the ability to support and explain diagnostic conclusions.
Candidates should have an Associate degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, or a related field. Equivalent military experience, trade school training, or hands-on job experience will also be considered. The ideal candidate will have one to three years of hands-on experience in electronics testing, RF testing, ATE operation, or similar technical work. Familiarity with test equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power meters, audio or modulation analyzers, and oscilloscopes is preferred. A basic understanding of RF principles, along with strong electronic and mechanical troubleshooting ability, is important. Experience with two-way subscriber products is helpful but not required.

Strong computer skills are also needed for success in this role. Candidates should be comfortable using PCs for data entry and everyday tasks, and should have working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. The ability to quickly learn company-specific test software and documentation tools is also important.

This opportunity is well suited for candidates with one to three years of experience in electronics testing, device repair, depot-level service, or RF lab support. It may also be a strong fit for individuals coming from technical school or associate degree programs with hands-on lab training, military electronics backgrounds, or junior-level RF, electronics, or test technician roles who are looking to advance.
To be considered, candidates must have basic experience with electronic or RF test equipment, the ability to follow structured test procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a production-style test environment. Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills are required. U.S. citizenship is also required.

Preferred qualifications include exposure to automated test systems, experience with two-way radios or communications equipment, previous work in electronics manufacturing or repair, and familiarity with Lean or 5S environments.
