Testing Lead

Job Title: Testing Lead (MMIS)
Location: Pierre, South Dakota (On-site)
Employment Type: Contract (Work Order)
Duration: 12 Months (June 1, 2026 May 31, 2027) with possible extensions
Position Overview

Testing Lead to support the testing lifecycle of enhanced and newly developed Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS). This role is focused on business-side testing, ensuring system functionality aligns with Medicaid program requirements, and collaborating with stakeholders across business and IT teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate testing activities in collaboration with project managers, business teams, and IT stakeholders
• Design, develop, document, and maintain detailed test cases and test scenarios
• Execute test plans, validate system functionality, and document results
• Identify, track, and support resolution of system defects and issues
• Analyze system changes and assess impacts across integrated systems and business processes
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure requirements are accurately tested and validated
• Support implementation of system updates driven by federal regulations, state mandates, and policy changes
• Participate in and lead project meetings, providing testing insights and status updates
• Prepare comprehensive testing documentation, reports, and feedback summaries
• Ensure adherence to testing standards, methodologies, and best practices

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in testing within Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS)
• Strong expertise in creating, executing, and managing test cases and scenarios
• Experience working with cross-functional teams (business and IT)
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to interpret and apply policies, regulations, and procedural guidelines
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Work Environment

• Fully onsite role based in Pierre, South Dakota

• Office space and resources provided by DSS

Contract & Compensation Details

• Competitive hourly rate (based on experience)
• Travel expenses (if applicable) reimbursed as per state guidelines (lodging, mileage, meals)
• Contract can be terminated by either party with a 30-day notice
