NetApp ActiveIQ is a digital advisor that uses AIOps to simplify and automate the proactive care and optimization of customer's infrastructure environment to improve its health and availability. ActiveIQ provides actionable intelligence for optimal storage health and simplified management.

NetApp is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join our Active IQ Engineering team. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and managing the Active IQ infrastructure. You will leverage your expertise in NetApp products, ONTAP knowledge, and SRE automation and security to ensure the robustness and efficiency of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Infrastructure Design & Optimization: Lead the design and optimization of the Active IQ infrastructure, ensuring high performance and scalability.
  • Systems Integration & Implementation: Integrate and implement NetApp products such as FAS, AFF, and Storage Grid to enhance the Active IQ platform.
  • ONTAP Expertise: Utilize your extensive knowledge of ONTAP to manage and optimize storage solutions within the Active IQ infrastructure.
  • Infrastructure Understanding: Analyze and understand both on-premises and cloud infrastructure requirements, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
  • SRE Automation & Security: Develop and implement SRE automation and security strategies to enhance system reliability, performance, and security.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum system availability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, development, and operations, to deliver high-quality solutions.

Job Requirements

  • Technical Skills:
    • Extensive experience with NetApp products such as FAS, AFF, and Storage Grid.
    • Strong knowledge of ONTAP.
    • Proven experience in SRE automation and security.
    • Strong understanding of both on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
    • Extensive knowledge in the Cloud Architecture, Containerization (Kubernetes, dockers)
    • Extensive knowledge in observability platforms such as Application performance monitoring such as Dynatrace and Splunk
    • Python programming
    • Gen AI Knowledge is a plus
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with additional NetApp products and solutions.
  • Certification in relevant NetApp technologies.
  • Experience in leading large-scale projects and initiatives.

Education

Qualifications:
  • Education: B.S. in Computer Science is required; M.S. in Computer Science is a plus.
  • Experience: 12+ years of experience in systems integration and implementation using NetApp products.

Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 159,800 - 237,600 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. The range is based on 'On Target Earnings' (OTE) representing the total potential earnings, which is the sum of the base salary and potential commission earned when performance targets are achieved. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off, various Leave options, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU's). These offerings are subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
