Specialty Software Engineer to support a key contingent assignment focused on Workday development and large-scale technical initiatives. In this role, you will consult on complex engineering efforts with broad organizational impact, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and optimize innovative Workday solutions.
You will analyze intricate, multi-layered engineering challenges, applying deep technical expertise and sound judgment to evaluate factors ranging from system architecture to compliance considerations. This position requires a strategic mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with client stakeholders and product teams.
What You'll Do- Lead and consult on large-scale, complex Specialty Software Engineering initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance requirements.
- Review, assess, and solve multi-faceted technical challenges, including those involving ambiguous, unprecedented, or intangible factors.
- Provide expert guidance in the design, development, and deployment of solutions within the Workday ecosystem.
- Partner closely with client personnel and internal teams to drive successful outcomes and deliver high-quality, scalable engineering solutions.
- Contribute to strategy discussions, technical planning, and long-term system enhancement efforts.
Required Skills & Experience- 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience
(or equivalent experience through work, consulting, education, military service, or training) - Hands-on expertise with:
- Workday HCM
- Workday Reporting
- Workday Prism (additional skill)
- Workday Extend development
- Workday Studio integration development
- Experience building new applications in Workday Extend, particularly in support of workforce development and workforce management capabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with existing product teams in an agile, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex technical factors.
- Experience supporting large enterprise environments and multi-system integrations.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management abilities.
- Willingness to work in or near team hubs such as Chandler, AZ or Minneapolis, MN (preferred but not required).
