Anduril Industries is seeking a highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer to lead critical test campaigns for the essential Testing and Evaluation of Eagle Eye, the Army's Next Generation Command & Control (NGC2) system, the Menace Systems Family, and related cutting-edge products.
OverviewIn this role, you will:
- Define and Drive Strategy:
Develop and execute comprehensive systems engineering strategies within Anduril's Connected Warfare Division, ensuring that our products meet rigorous requirements and verification standards. - Collaborate Across Teams:
Work directly with business lines, engineering (both software and hardware), and program offices to translate product requirements into tangible engineering deliverables. - Innovate with Technology:
Leverage coding skills (e.g., Python, C++, or Rust) and SysML expertise to create and refine models, conduct analysis and simulation, and support system-level decision making. - Lead Test & Evaluation:
Define test strategies and coordinate a wide range of test events-from in-lab simulations and hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) tests to full-scale field demonstrations-to validate both systems and software. - Ensure Compliance & Standards:
Develop strategies that align with industry standards (e.g., NATO UAV, MIL-STD-882E) and ensure our technical roadmap is in lockstep with program and test & evaluation milestones. - Accelerate Cross-Team Projects:
Proactively manage and unblock cross-functional initiatives, resolve dependencies, and act as the systems engineering subject matter expert across multiple programs.
What You'll DoPlan & Lead Systems Engineering Strategy:- Define engineering strategies to drive Test & Evaluation for flagship products like Eagle Eye, NGC2, Menace, and Soldier Borne Mission Command (SBMC).
- Work closely with business lines to fully understand product requirements and deliverables.
- Lead the decomposition of systems requirements with both software and hardware engineering teams using SysML-based solutions.
Develop & Execute Test & Evaluation Plans:- Establish testing strategies that apply appropriate modalities (from full-software simulations to hardware-in-the-loop demos) for validating system and software requirements.
- Autonomously handle broad or ambiguous requirements from internal teams, program offices, and third-party partners, ensuring successful delivery across multiple projects simultaneously.
Drive Cross-Functional Alignment:- Partner with product leads to scope, staff, and deliver capabilities that meet company milestones.
- Collaborate with hardware, product, and test operations teams to ensure seamless integration of the technical roadmap with the Test & Evaluation roadmap.
- Identify and resolve systemic execution issues that affect cross-team projects.
Technical Leadership & Innovation:- Utilize your coding expertise to support analysis, simulation, and system optimizations.
- Propose technical alternatives when necessary and ask the critical questions that clarify project priorities.
- Serve as a trusted partner and mentor to Anduril's engineering teams by sharing best practices.
Required QualificationsEducation: - Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
Experience:- 8+ years in executing Command & Control (C2) software and hardware systems testing in both laboratory and operational settings.
- Demonstrated proficiency in systems engineering concepts, requirements development, test planning, execution, and reporting.
- Proven experience with safety-critical standards, software safety fault/hazard analyses, and requirements-driven verification and validation strategies.
Technical Proficiency:- Strong background in systems engineering with the ability to integrate SysML-based approaches.
- Experience with modern engineering tools such as JAMA, Cameo, Matlab, Simulink, and AFSIM.
- Hands-on experience with code-based analysis or simulation, using languages like Python, C++, or Rust.
- Familiarity with software design assessments and code reviews, and comfortable with modern development practices including unit and integration testing.
Other:- Comfortable with ambiguity, evolving priorities, and complex problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel up to 50% for field test events.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications- 5+ years of experience with programming languages (Python, C++, Rust) for engineering analysis and simulation.
- Skilled in Statistics and AI/ML applications within systems engineering.
- Prior experience working with SysML/SysML2 based solutions.
- Familiarity with the Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
- Demonstrated experience deploying disruptive process changes within an engineering organization.
- Active security clearance is a plus.

US Salary Range
$146,000-$183,000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
