Senior Enterprise Application Support Engineer (MWM / MDMS)

Introduction

The Senior Enterprise Application Support Engineer will primarily support the Mobile Workforce Management (MWM) system and provide backup support for the Meter Data Management System (MDMS). This role involves supporting mission-critical enterprise applications, managing batch operations, troubleshooting production issues, system upgrades, performance tuning, and ensuring overall system health in a 24x7 production environment.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain MWM and MDMS critical production systems
• Run and monitor batch jobs, job scheduling, and system integrations
• Troubleshoot application, database, and infrastructure issues across DEV/TEST/PROD
• Perform system upgrades, patching, and health checks
• Develop reports and support business-requested changes
• Monitor system performance, conduct tuning, and capacity planning
• Implement and maintain application security, keystores, and compliance standards
• Support APIs, web services, and error-handling processes
• Document IT processes and communicate effectively with technical and business teams
• Participate in after-hours and on-call support as required

Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 12+ years of enterprise application support experience
• Hands-on experience supporting critical 24x7 production systems
• Strong experience with Oracle Database & PL/SQL
• Experience administering MWM, MDMS, or similar complex enterprise systems
• Knowledge of Oracle Mobile Workforce Management (MWM)
• Knowledge of Landis+Gyr Meter Data Management System (MDMS)
• Strong UNIX/Linux experience: AIX, Red Hat, SUSE
• Shell scripting experience (KornShell - ksh)
• Experience with job scheduling, disaster recovery, and SDLC environments
• WebLogic 12.2 server maintenance experience
• Programming/Scripting: Java, Groovy, JavaScript, Python
• API development and support (REST/Web Services, error handling)
• Experience with application security, keystores, and compliance
• Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills
• Ability to multitask and work independently in high-pressure environments

Preferred / Additional Skills

• Performance tuning and system sizing experience
• Reporting development in complex enterprise applications
• Experience supporting large-scale utility or energy sector systems
