Role Overview
We are seeking a Telecommunications Specialist to provide technical support for various initiatives and projects, including WAN, LAN, VPN, and wireless environments. The successful candidate will perform data analysis, review metrics, and provide reports to management. This role involves administering network service requests, coordinating installations, and managing circuit lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer network service requests to vendors using Telecom Expense Management software.
- Schedule and coordinate network service installations based on project specifications.
- Execute the circuit implementation and disconnect lifecycle for new installs, migrations, and disconnects.
- Track daily tasks and report progress in Excel spreadsheets.
- Manage and resolve ServiceNow tickets to closure.
- Perform data analysis, capture metrics, and provide management reports.
- Coordinate new upgrades and enhancements with vendors.
- Support day-to-day WAN escalations and assist in answering vendor calls.
- Pro-actively communicate progress, timelines, and obstacles to project managers and management.
Required Qualifications
Education: An Associate's Degree and a minimum of 3 years of IT work experience is required. An additional 2 years of work experience can be substituted for the degree.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of applicable network experience and support is required. Strong customer service experience is essential. The role requires flexibility to work on-call, overnights, and weekends as needed.
Technical Skills: Candidates must have a strong knowledge of networking, including SD-WAN, data circuits, and network troubleshooting. Proficiency with the MS Office Suite, especially Excel and Teams, is necessary. Experience with ServiceNow, routers, switches, modems, and remote connections (VPN, Putty, SSH) is required.
Clearance: Must be able to obtain & maintain a Position of Public Trust Clearance. This requires being a or Permanent Resident (), having resided in the US for 3 of the last 5 years, and not having traveled outside the US for a combined total of 6 months or more in the last 5 years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior T2 network support experience is a plus.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position located in Raleigh, NC, requiring reporting to the office 4 days a week on the first shift (Monday-Friday). The schedule includes occasional on-call rotation and after-hours work. The hybrid schedule could change in the future.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $25.00 and $29.00 per hour. There will be one bill rate regardless of hours worked in a day or workweek.
