Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a time entry automation initiative within a law firm environment. This role will focus on discovering and documenting the current-state process to ensure all steps are fully understood before automation is implemented. The primary objective is to produce clear, accurate workflow diagrams and supporting documentation that will guide automation decisions and improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in structured discovery calls with attorneys to understand their current time entry process.

• Document end-to-end workflows in Visio. Delivering high-quality diagrams and documentation efficiently within a deadline-driven environment.

• Produce detailed process documentation to accompany workflow diagrams.
• Capture and clarify process variations, dependencies, and manual workarounds.
• Ensure documentation accurately reflects the current state to prevent gaps in future automation efforts.
• Incorporate feedback from the hiring manager and stakeholders to refine deliverables.

Required Qualifications (Must Have)

• Strong Business Analysis experience
• Advanced proficiency in Visio workflow diagramming
• Proven ability to gather requirements and produce clear, structured documentation
• Experience working in professional, deadline-driven environments
• Ability to engage demanding stakeholders and manage multiple inputs/directions

• Demonstrated ability to produce accurate workflows quickly and efficiently
• Detail-oriented and highly organized

• Comfort with part-time or contract-based engagements

Preferred Qualifications

• Legal industry experience
• Familiarity with time entry or billing processes
• Comfortable interviewing senior professionals
• Skilled at distilling complex, manual processes into clear visual diagrams
• Able to work independently while incorporating stakeholder feedback
• Efficient and responsive in a fast-paced professional setting
