Job Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to join our R&D team in Hingham, MA. In this role, you will support the design and development of mechanical components for electrical power distribution systems, including automatic transfer switches and switchgear.

This is a great opportunity to work on critical infrastructure projects supporting hospitals, data centers, utilities, and more.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop mechanical components for power distribution equipment
Create 3D models and perform tolerance analysis using Creo/ProE
Test and validate mechanical components and systems
Select materials, components, and parts for mechanical designs
Develop layouts, specifications, and technical documentation
Maintain and update engineering product files
Support design improvements and product enhancements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing and suppliers
Assist in implementing and testing new product designs
Occasionally travel to testing labs or manufacturing sites (0 5%)

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
2+ years of mechanical design or R&D experience
Strong experience with Creo/ProE (3D solid modeling)
Experience designing mechanical components (preferably for electrical systems or similar products)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) or power distribution equipment
