Role Summary

The Senior Data Analyst sits with Northern Trust's Asset Management COO organization as a strategic member and trusted partner across Product Management, Investments, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Technology, and Data Governance, contributing initiatives that support business growth and the success of investment products to support development efforts and support scalability of new products. The position participates in cross-functional efforts related to product launches, operational readiness, client reporting enhancements, and go-to-market execution while providing subject matter expertise in asset management products, client data, and investment operations. Responsibilities include translating complex concepts into actionable insights and executive-level communications, improving client experience, operational efficiency, scalability, and data quality, and ensuring accurate, consistent messaging for clients and prospects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate business product development and design efforts with information technology solutions in order to meet business partner and client market data needs. Provide business unit partners with ongoing systems guidance; act as a troubleshooter.
  • Lead initiatives related to improving data quality in the core NTGI platforms. Work closely with portfolio management, risk and compliance and technology partners to gather and prepare data related business requirements used to implement improvements / solutions.
  • Provide project support and planning: develops test plans and user acceptance testing criteria.
  • Evaluates and makes recommendations on techniques, practices or technologies that would enhance data related business needs.
  • Communicate with internal business areas, outside vendors and consultants regarding automation needs.
  • Keep abreast of new and existing bank products / services and market trends in order to meet data related business unit and client needs.

Necessary Skills and Knowledge
  • Knowledge of business functions and processes usually obtained through related work experience in the following areas: financial operations, portfolio and project management.
  • General knowledge and understanding of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the technology field.
  • Creative thinker with excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills.
  • Goal oriented team player willing to work with a global group of professionals across NTGI and Northern Trust as a whole.

Necessary Experience and Education
  • 6 plus years of relevant experience in the financial services/asset management industries and/or financial project management experience.

Salary Range:
$74,700 - 126,900 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
