Job Description:
IT - Enterprise Architect

Location: Austin, Texas or Fort Mill, SC (Hybrid)

Target Pay Rate: $70-80/hour **W2 only

Role Overview

This role supports the design, analysis, and evolution of enterprise technology platforms, including integration, developer tooling, and AI-enabled capabilities. The position provides technical leadership, collaborating with senior stakeholders to help define enterprise architecture frameworks and roadmaps. The ideal candidate will architect and develop applications by producing design specifications and contributing to code aligned with business and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership for projects, collaborating with senior technical and management stakeholders.
  • Partner with architects, engineers, platform, and security teams to analyze requirements and support modernization initiatives.
  • Perform end-to-end solution analysis from discovery through delivery, including defining target-state architectures.
  • Create and maintain architecture artifacts such as system diagrams, integration flows, and technical documentation.
  • Assist in the design and analysis of API, integration, and gateway solutions enabling secure enterprise connectivity.
  • Ensure alignment with architecture standards, secure development practices, and configuration management processes.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks across architecture, security, and infrastructure.
  • Support platform modernization and migration by analyzing current- and future-state solutions.
  • Communicate technical concepts, decisions, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Take an active role within the development team by sharing knowledge and mentoring others.
Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience: 7+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or platform engineering. This includes 7-10 years of experience with APIs, integration patterns, and distributed systems, and 5+ years of cloud experience, with a preference for AWS.

Technical Skills: Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills. Experience working effectively both collaboratively and independently in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with API gateways or integration platforms such as Apigee, MuleSoft, or Kong.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, and platform modernization initiatives.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled platforms or developer productivity tools is a plus.
