Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Sourcing Specialist to support IT procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract administration activities. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, analytical, scheduling, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage multiple procurement requests and coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.
This role involves managing procurement requests from initial intake through approvals, contract documentation, and purchase order completion while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage IT procurement requests, including Statements of Work (SOWs), software purchases, vendor contracts, and contract extensions.
Coordinate procurement activities from request intake through final purchase order issuance.
Develop and maintain schedules, track milestones, prioritize requests, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Collaborate with IT teams, business stakeholders, finance, legal, procurement teams, and external suppliers.
Support strategic sourcing initiatives, competitive bidding, quotation reviews, and supplier evaluations.
Analyze supplier pricing, spending patterns, market trends, and procurement requirements to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Assist with contract negotiations, contract structuring, and preparation of procurement documentation.
Ensure purchasing activities comply with organizational policies, contractual requirements, and applicable governance standards.
Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation, trackers, and status reports.
Communicate progress, outstanding requirements, risks, and potential delays to relevant stakeholders.
Identify process gaps, resolve issues, and recommend improvements to procurement workflows.
Support supplier relationship management and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of directly relevant professional experience in IT sourcing, procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management, supply chain, or related project delivery activities.
Candidates with an advanced degree or doctorate may be considered with 3 or more years of relevant experience.
Strong organizational, analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Experience managing multiple requests, projects, or initiatives simultaneously.
Ability to develop schedules, monitor progress, manage dependencies, and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong ownership mindset, initiative, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting IT procurement or technology sourcing initiatives.
Knowledge of category management, spend analysis, market analysis, and demand planning.
Experience with supplier negotiations, contract administration, and competitive sourcing processes.
Familiarity with supplier relationship management and procurement compliance.
Experience in the utilities, manufacturing, construction, or related industries.
Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification.
MBA or another relevant graduate degree.
Work Schedule
Hybrid work arrangement with 3 days onsite per week in St. Louis, Missouri.
The first 30 days require onsite attendance for training and team onboarding.
Thursday is a mandatory onsite day; the other two onsite days are flexible.
