Capital Markets Risk Analyst or Senior Capital Markets Risk Analyst

Onsite Location: Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC

W2 role only

Role Overview

We re looking for a techsavvy Capital Markets Risk Analyst who loves building tools, automating workflows, and improving how a business operates. In this role, you will help design and build the next generation of our risk and P&L infrastructure notably our RAPTOR platform. You ll replace outdated manual processes with modern, automated solutions, create intuitive dashboards, and strengthen key control functions such as Independent Price Verification (IPV).

Key Responsibilities

Build & Automate

  • Develop Python-based automation, analytics, and data-processing tools that streamline P&L, IPV, and marketrisk processes.
  • Design ETL workflows that integrate electronic trading data (equities, ETFs, fixed income) into risk systems.
  • Modernize legacy Excel workflows into high-quality dashboards (Power BI or similar).

Enhance Market Risk Infrastructure

  • Contribute to the RAPTOR project s architecture, tooling, and data pipelines.
  • Support enhancements to pricing, model validation inputs, and risk attribution workflows.

Process Improvement & Controls

  • Improve the accuracy, speed, and transparency of the IPV process.
  • Help re-engineer trading and risk workflows, including quote integrations and venue data connectivity.
  • Assist in testing, documentation, and release validation for new automation and risk platform features.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Trading, Risk, Valuations, Technology, and Data teams to align solutions with business needs.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver actionable solutions.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Strong Python programming skills (data processing, automation, analytics).
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases; comfort working with large datasets.
  • Handson experience building dashboards or BI analytics (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ETL processes, data pipelines, and workflow automation.

Markets & Risk Knowledge

  • Exposure to capital markets, trading desks, or financial products (equities, ETFs, fixed income, derivatives).
  • Understanding of P&L, pricing concepts, IPV, or market risk frameworks (preferred, not required).
  • Experience with regulatory reporting for cleared derivatives (a plus).

Analytical & Professional Skills

  • Ability to interpret complex datasets, identify trends, and communicate insights.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn trading systems and risk tools.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
