Genesis10 is currently seeking a Lab Services Network Engineer - Hybrid for a 12+ month contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week onsite. The successful candidate will join the Innovation Lab Services team, a shared services group providing Lab-as-a-Service and Technology Certification capabilities. This role is critical in managing complex network systems and shaping the future of the Lab Services organization by enabling proof-of-concept testing and validation of new technology.
Responsibilities: - Design, build, automate, and operate next-generation solutions for Innovation Labs
- Deliver Lab-as-a-Service offerings to internal customers across the enterprise
- Support proof-of-concept and technology certification initiatives
- Collaborate with Architecture, Engineering, and Operations teams to accelerate innovation
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Data Communications, or Computer Science
- Strong knowledge of enterprise routing and switching protocols (MPLS, BGP, EIGRP)
- Deep understanding of LAN/WAN, compute, storage, Linux, Windows, and Python scripting
- Hands-on experience with Linux, Windows, Active Directory, and VMware ESXi
- Proven ability to configure and support complex, multi-layered network environments
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Ansible Tower)
- Strong understanding of client-server architecture, virtualization, containers, and private/public cloud environments
- Expertise in network technologies, including switching, routing, application delivery, firewalling, proxy, DNS, time services, SDN, and overlay networking
- Proficiency in Python programming and application development
- Excellent communication, reporting, and organizational skills
- Highly motivated, self-directed, and able to work independently or within distributed global teams
Desired skills: - Familiarity with network traffic generation tools and lab automation tools
- Cisco Certifications: CCNP, CCDP, CCIE
- VMware Certifications: VCP, VCAP, VCDP
Pay range: $60.24 - $68.24 per hour
