Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician to support server and network equipment deployments, installations, troubleshooting, maintenance, and data center operations. The ideal candidate will have direct experience working in a data center environment and strong hands-on skills with server hardware, rack-and-stack activities, and structured copper/fiber cabling.
This is a 100% onsite role in Plano, TX and requires the ability to perform physical data center activities, including moving, staging, racking, cabling, and handling equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform server and network equipment deployments, including rack-and-stack activities.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain data center equipment.
- Perform server diagnostics and hardware repairs.
- Replace failed components such as hard drives, RAM/memory, and other server parts.
- Rack, stack, mount, and physically position servers and network equipment.
- Perform copper and fiber cabling and maintain neat, structured cabling.
- Manage and organize power cabling with a strong focus on clean and structured cable management.
- Assist with equipment moves, staging, and project-related data center activities.
- Support logistics activities, including receiving hardware shipments, staging systems, moving pallets, counting spares, and replenishing inventory.
- Follow data center safety, security, and operational procedures.
- Work collaboratively with data center, engineering, and logistics teams.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of direct Data Center experience.
- Hands-on experience working in a data center environment.
- Experience with server installation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and parts replacement.
- Strong rack-and-stack experience.
- Experience with copper and fiber cabling.
- Strong cable management skills, particularly neat and structured power cabling.
- Ability to perform physical activities including moving and staging data center equipment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting large-scale data center deployments.
- Familiarity with server/network hardware and data center infrastructure.
- Experience with hardware inventory, spares management, and logistics.
- Experience working with structured cabling and power distribution within data center environments.
