Title: SAP Ariba Supplier Risk Consultant
Location: Remote
Duration: 4+ months
Alignment: W2 (Vendors Not Permitted)

Project Overview:
Our client is implementing the SAP Ariba Supplier Risk module as part of a broader modernization effort within the State of California s procurement and vendor management ecosystem. This initiative includes full lifecycle implementation of the Supplier Risk module and the long-term transition to operations under the application maintenance and support team.

Role Overview:
The SAP Ariba Supplier Risk Developer & Integration Specialist will serve as the primary hands-on resource for the design, build, configuration, and technical delivery of the Supplier Risk module. This consultant will work closely with project leadership and business stakeholders to ensure a smooth implementation, covering all phases from requirements refinement through go-live and operational handoff. This role requires a consultant with practical experience implementing SAP Ariba Supplier Risk and the ability to perform development, configuration, and integration tasks directly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configuring the SAP Ariba Supplier Risk module, including core setup, scoring models, due-diligence workflows, questionnaires, alerts, and monitoring processes.
  • Translating business requirements into functional specifications and high-quality Ariba configurations.
  • Implementing supplier attributes, regulatory compliance fields, and risk category mappings.
  • Developing enhancements, scripts, data transformation logic, and workflow/UI updates to support Supplier Risk functionality.
  • Troubleshooting module behavior, integration issues, data quality problems, and technical defects across environments.
  • Designing and implementing integrations between Supplier Risk and SAP ECC/S4, Ariba Buying & Invoicing, and other third-party systems.
  • Configuring and testing APIs, data replication processes, and interface monitoring to ensure secure, reliable data flow.
  • Ensuring all development and integrations comply with State of California security, access, and data-handling requirements.
  • Creating and executing test scripts for unit, integration, UAT, and regression testing; support defect remediation.
  • Supporting cutover planning, deployment activities, and post-go-live hyper-care.
  • Maintaining comprehensive project documentation, including design specs, configuration workbooks, interface documents, and test results.
  • Collaborating closely with project leadership, functional teams, and technical SMEs to ensure alignment across all workstreams.

Requirements:

  • Hands on experience implementing the SAP Ariba Supplier Risk module. Knowledge of SAP Ariba SLP, Sourcing, Buying & Invoicing, or Contract Management is a plus!
  • Proven experience with configuration, technical development, and integration for SAP Ariba modules.
  • Strong understanding of supplier lifecycle management, risk scoring models, due-diligence workflows, questionnaires, alerts, and compliance processes.
  • Experience integrating Ariba solutions with SAP ECC/S/4HANA, Ariba Buying, and third-party systems using CIG, SAP Integration Suite, APIs, or middleware tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot module behavior, data quality issues, interface errors, and technical defects.
  • Proficiency in test planning and execution: unit, integration, UAT, and regression.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with business, functional, and technical teams.
  • Experience documenting solution designs, configuration workbooks, test cases, and interface specifications.
