  10+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Strategy, Data Products, or related data disciplines .Own domain data definitions, business rules, and semantic accuracy across Gold layer assets

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Governance Lead with strong expertise in data governance, data product strategy, business data definitions, and enterprise data management.

The ideal candidate will own domain-level data definitions, business rules, semantic accuracy, and certification standards across Gold/Platinum data assets. This role will serve as the authoritative bridge between business stakeholders and engineering teams, ensuring that data products are accurately defined, governed, documented, trusted, and aligned with business objectives.

The candidate should have hands-on experience with Alation, business glossaries, data lineage, data contracts, SLAs, data quality, and Medallion architecture. Strong executive communication skills are required, including the ability to independently create and deliver presentations to C-level stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Own domain data definitions, business rules, terminology, and semantic accuracy across Gold-layer data assets.

Serve as the authoritative voice between business stakeholders and engineering teams regarding data meaning, usage, ownership, and business context.

Define and maintain data contracts, SLAs, certification standards, and trusted/certified dataset criteria.

Establish and govern standards for promotion of data assets through Medallion architecture layers, including Gold and Platinum.

Partner with Data Catalog teams to ensure accurate business glossary, metadata, ownership, lineage, and data documentation.

Drive data governance standards, policies, processes, and operating models across assigned business domains.

Partner with engineering and data platform teams to ensure data products meet defined governance and semantic standards.

Drive data product strategy, including business value, adoption, prioritization, ownership, and lifecycle management.

Lead discussions with senior and C-level stakeholders regarding data product strategy, business value, governance, and platform direction.

Create and independently deliver executive-ready presentations and communicate complex data concepts to business and technology leadership.

Identify data quality, definition, lineage, and governance gaps and drive remediation with appropriate stakeholders.

Establish standards for trusted, certified, and reusable enterprise datasets.

Collaborate across business, data engineering, architecture, governance, catalog, and platform teams.

Promote consistent data definitions and business rules across enterprise data products.

Strong Data Governance experience.

Hands-on Alation experience.

Business glossary and data lineage management.

Data product strategy and data product ownership.

Data definitions, business rules, and semantic data management.

Data contracts and SLA management.

Data quality and certified dataset standards.

Medallion architecture / Gold-layer data governance.

Strong business stakeholder and executive communication skills.

Experience working directly with senior/C-level stakeholders.
