We are currently seeking a talented and motivated System Administrator VI for a Full-Time position.

Job Summary:

The System Administrator VI serves as a senior technical expert and Enterprise Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME), responsible for the architecture, resilience, operation, and long-term strategy of enterprise systems supporting a shared services data center environment. This role provides advanced Tier II/III support, leads complex projects, and partners directly with federal stakeholders to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable IT operations.

Education

Associate's Degree, technical training certificate, or a combination of education and equivalent professional experience.

Experience Required
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise system administration.
  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on technical experience supporting enterprise IT environments at the server and data center level.
  • Federal enterprise IT experience preferred.

Core Responsibilities
  • Act as Enterprise Systems SME, providing technical leadership for architecture, resilience, and long-term system strategy.
  • Support and maintain enterprise systems, including:
  • Backup and recovery operations for the Data Operations Center (DOC)
  • System patching, performance tuning, and resource optimization
  • Hardware and software upgrades
  • Operational configuration and troubleshooting
  • Provide Tier II and Tier III support, mentoring and supporting lower-tier teams.
  • Architect and approve enterprise system designs, standards, and configurations.
  • Lead disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
  • Serve as technical lead for shared services enterprise datacenter IT projects.
  • Interface directly with Contracting Officer's Representatives (CORs) and Office of Information Technology (OIT) leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and operational best practices.
  • Lead and manage complex technical initiatives, including documentation, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Support data center physical infrastructure and security systems.
  • Technical Skills & Knowledge
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with VMware virtualization platforms.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft enterprise management tools.
  • Familiarity with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools.
  • Experience with industry-standard data center physical security tools and applications.
  • Working knowledge of scripting and programming languages such as:
  • PowerShell
  • Visual Basic
  • .NET
  • C#
  • Other relevant scripting languages

Professional Skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and resolve highly complex technical issues.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and technical teams.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation-based interdepartmental communication skills.
  • Experience developing project management and technical documentation.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align technical solutions to enterprise and mission needs.
