We are seeking a highly motivated and driven Engineering Professional to manage advanced configuration and OS upgrades for carrier-class Cisco and Nokia equipment. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining a complex, multi-vendor nationwide data network, transitioning from VXLAN to the eNSE platform, and implementing cutting-edge virtualization technologies.

responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities
- Network Evolution: Transition network elements to the eNSE platform leveraging Software Defined Networking (SDN) and virtualization.
- Maintenance Windows: Plan, schedule, and implement changes during overnight maintenance windows while ensuring zero customer impact.
- Virtualization: Engineer network configurations for onboarding private cloud tenants.
- Automation: Utilize tools like Python, NSO, DCNM, VTS, and Nuage to streamline deployment projects.
- Troubleshooting: Perform remote Layer 1-3 troubleshooting, transport circuit turn-ups/disconnects, and Out-of-Band Management (OBM) corrections.
- Quality Assurance: Use monitoring tools to validate network health before and after changes; perform "overwatch" for team members during migrations.
- Documentation: Maintain rigorous administrative logs, ticket updates, and change management entries (Kirke).

qualifications:
Must-Have Skills (Required)
Education: Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of relevant work experience.
Hardware Expertise: Expert-level CLI comprehension for:
Nokia: 7750, 7706, 7250.
Cisco: 55A1, 5504, 5508, 9508, CRS-16, Nexus 3k/5k/7k/9k.
Operating Systems: IOS, XE, XR, NX-OS.
Technical Knowledge: * Layer 1: Extensive troubleshooting for copper (Cat5/6) and fiber (SC, LC, FC, MPO).
Layer 2/3: Deep understanding of IP networking, MPLS, BGP, VXLAN, and Spine-and-Leaf fabric.
Protocol Support: Functional knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6.
Project Execution: Ability to follow detailed engineering design documents, create/implement MOPs, and manage high-stakes maintenance windows.
Communication: Strong ability to lead conference calls, troubleshoot with local onsite personnel via phone, and manage stakeholder updates via email/tickets.
