Build, manage, and optimize multi-cloud infrastructure. Serve as a key partner to the Director of Cloud Strategy, managing technical workflows and Cloud tasks that enable the entire team to be more efficient. Support the company's ability to modernize applications and deliver reliable services by applying best practices in infrastructure as code, FinOps, and agile operations.

This is a hybrid position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office at least three days a week. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Temple, TX.

What you'll do as a Cloud Engineer:
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure on a multi-cloud environment (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Develop and enforce Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards and best practices using tools like Terraform. Create and maintain reusable automation modules and templates for various cloud services.
  • Oversee and perform hands-on technical administrative tasks, including the automation of Cloud account(s) provisioning, tagging, and policy enforcement for cloud environments.
  • Implement, monitor, and report on cloud cost control measures to ensure cost efficiency and accountability across our cloud services.
  • Design and implement robust monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure system health and performance.
  • Participate in incident response, conduct post-mortems, and drive solutions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Work closely with the Director to manage and execute on the team's strategic vision for creating Cloud Products. Lead the grooming and prioritization of the technical backlog, helping to translate high-level goals into actionable tasks.
  • Coordinate and facilitate technical sessions with architects and engineers. Represent the team in agile ceremonies, providing updates and gathering feedback.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and reference architectures to ensure clear communication and consistent practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications you'll bring as a Cloud Engineer:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Three or more years of hands-on experience in a cloud engineering role.
  • Experience with at least one major public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
  • Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python or Bash.
  • Proven experience with agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts and represent the team effectively.
  • Experience with cloud monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk).
  • Experience with financial operations in a cloud environment (FinOps).
  • Relevant professional-level cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate).
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and incident management.
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
