About the Role
We''re looking for a seasoned Portworx Solution Architect to drive customer success across the full pre-sales and delivery lifecycle. You''ll be the technical authority on Portworx — designing, architecting, and validating enterprise-grade persistent storage solutions for Kubernetes-native environments. This is a high-impact, customer-facing role that demands deep hands-on expertise, strong presence, and the ability to translate complex infrastructure concepts into clear business value.
What You''ll Do
• Own the technical pre-sales motion — lead discovery, architect solutions, deliver compelling demos and PoCs that win deals
• Design and validate Portworx reference architectures for complex, multi-cloud and on-prem Kubernetes environments
• Serve as the trusted technical advisor for enterprise and mid-market accounts throughout the sales cycle and beyond
• Collaborate with sales, product, and engineering teams to align solutions with customer requirements
• Develop technical content including architecture diagrams, deployment guides, and best practices documentation
• Support post-sale onboarding and handoffs — ensuring smooth transitions from PoC to production
• Represent Portworx at customer briefings, industry events, and partner engagements
• Provide structured field feedback to product and engineering on gaps, feature requests, and competitive dynamics
What We''re Looking For
Required
• 10+ years in infrastructure, storage, or cloud-native architecture roles
• Hands-on Portworx expertise — design, deployment, tuning, and troubleshooting in production environments
• Strong pre-sales background — you''ve led PoCs, built RFP responses, and closed technical wins
• Deep Kubernetes proficiency across EKS, AKS, GKE, OpenShift, or Rancher
• Solid understanding of enterprise storage concepts: replication, snapshots, DR, IOPS tuning, encryption
• Excellent communication skills — you can hold the room with a CISO and go deep with a platform engineer in the same day
• Experience in a customer-facing SA, SE, or architect role within a B2B technology company
Nice to Have
• Portworx certification or formal Pure Storage training
• Experience with AI/ML workloads, GPU infrastructure, or stateful data pipelines on Kubernetes
• Familiarity with adjacent ecosystems: ArgoCD, Velero, Prometheus, Grafana
• Background in regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, government)
What Great Looks Like
You''ve architected Portworx deployments from scratch and can walk into any enterprise environment and immediately diagnose what''s wrong. You don''t just demo — you build credibility through depth. Customers trust you because you''ve seen what failure looks like and know how to avoid it. You communicate clearly with both executives and engineers, and you don''t need to be told to follow up.
