Systems Administrator Level 3

Summary
2-CM Technologies is seeking a System Administrator to support mission engineering
teams operating within a high performance operational IT environment. This role
focuses on sustaining and improving compute infrastructure, installing and maintaining
hardware platforms, and supporting engineers with reliable systems and
documentation. The position requires someone who takes ownership of systems, works
directly with users, and helps improve operational processes across the environment.
Requirements
Strong experience administering Linux systems in operational environments
Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise compute hardware
Experience working within structured data center or warehouse environments
Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues across networked systems
Experience documenting technical procedures and system configurations
Experience supporting virtualization technologies and hypervisors
Ability to work independently while coordinating with distributed engineering teams
Strong communication skills and experience supporting mission users
Bachelor’s degree with 9 years of experience or equivalent
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain high performance compute hardware including
accelerator platforms
Uninstall and relocate existing systems to government warehouse environments while
maintaining configuration integrity
Support installation and sustainment of both new and legacy hardware
Document installation procedures, configurations, and deployment processes
Work directly with onsite system administrators to streamline troubleshooting and
support efforts
Identify gaps in support coverage and recommend improvements to reduce downtime
Partner with engineering teams to improve system performance and user workflows
Maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures
Support virtualization efforts and contribute to long term IT modernization initiatives
Adapt infrastructure support as mission requirements evolve including future support
for AWS, cloud integrations, and large language model infrastructure

Nice to Haves

Experience supporting GPU accelerated platforms such as NVIDIA H100, H200, or
similar systems
Experience working directly with hardware in warehouse or lab environments
Experience supporting AWS or cloud infrastructure
Interest in supporting AI infrastructure or large language model platforms
Experience improving operational processes and system deployment documentation
