Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backup Solutions Architect to design, implement, and manage enterprise-level backup and disaster recovery (DR) solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Commvault / Commvault Cloud, strong storage and data protection knowledge, and hands-on experience across on-premises and cloud environments. This role works closely with infrastructure, cloud, security, and business teams to ensure critical data is secure, recoverable, and compliant with SLAs and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and optimize enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Administer and support Commvault and Commvault Cloud environments
• Configure and manage backup jobs for Linux, UNIX, and Windows systems
• Manage NAS environments using NDMP
• Support backups for databases including SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, and PostgreSQL
• Perform storage provisioning, zoning, and masking for UNIX, Windows, and VMware servers
• Manage and support backup and recovery across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, OCI, and IBM Cloud
• Plan and execute system upgrades, health checks, and performance tuning
• Support M365 Protection, Azure AD Protection, Cloud VM Backups, Air Gap Protection (AGP), and DR solutions
• Perform storage migrations and data center consolidations
• Troubleshoot complex backup and recovery issues and recommend architectural improvements
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers to test systems post-changes
• Ensure security tools are patched and backup environments meet compliance standards
• Evaluate new technologies and continuously improve data protection strategies

Required Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with Commvault and Commvault Cloud (SaaS)
• Enterprise backup and data protection expertise
• Experience with storage platforms: Dell/EMC, NetApp, IBM, Pure Storage
• Knowledge of NetApp ONTAP, SnapMirror, SnapVault
• Cloud experience across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, OCI, and IBM Cloud
• Proficiency with Linux, UNIX (AIX, HP-UX), and Windows environments
• Experience with VMware backup and recovery
• Scripting experience with PowerShell and/or Python
• Solid understanding of networking and security concepts
• Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Experience Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in Backup, Disaster Recovery, or Data Protection roles
• 7+ years hands-on experience with Commvault / Commvault Cloud in enterprise environments
• 6+ years experience managing enterprise storage systems (Dell/EMC, NetApp, IBM, Pure Storage)
• 7+ years experience supporting cloud-based backup and storage solutions

Education & Certification:

• Bachelor s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
• Commvault Certified Professional Administrator (preferred)
• Equivalent experience may be considered in place of formal education or certification
