Job Summary
The Technical Enterprise Application Architect plays a critical strategic role in shaping the bank’s enterprise technology landscape. This position is responsible for defining, governing, and advancing enterprise-wide architecture standards, frameworks, and roadmaps aligned with business strategy, regulatory compliance, and digital transformation objectives across consumer, commercial, and corporate banking.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in enterprise architecture, full-stack application design and development, hybrid deployment models (on-premises and cloud-native), stakeholder engagement, and banking technology modernization. This role ensures the bank maintains a secure, scalable, and resilient technology ecosystem that supports long-term growth and regulatory adherence.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain enterprise architecture blueprints across applications, data, infrastructure, and security domains.

Partner with executive and technology leadership to define and execute the enterprise architecture vision, strategy, and operating model tailored to banking business lines.

Define architecture standards covering responsive design, accessibility, and cross-platform compatibility.

Align technology strategy with business capabilities, regulatory requirements, and operational priorities.

Establish and lead architecture governance processes, including architecture review boards, standards enforcement, and solution alignment.

Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to evaluate and prioritize strategic technology initiatives.

Define reference architectures and reusable patterns for cloud platforms, APIs, integration frameworks, and data ecosystems.

Evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., biometrics, AI/ML, real-time payments) for innovation and strategic fit.

Lead modernization initiatives for legacy systems and cloud/hybrid migration programs.

Ensure architectural compliance with banking regulations including GLBA, FFIEC, SOX, and BCBS 239.

Mentor solution architects, technical leads, and cross-functional engineering teams.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

10+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack development and application architecture.

Minimum 3+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, data architecture, or technology strategy within digital banking or fintech environments.

Strong domain expertise in core banking, lending, payments, digital channels, and risk management.

Proven experience with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman.

Proficiency in architecture modeling languages such as ArchiMate and UML.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), hybrid environments, and API ecosystems.

Familiarity with enterprise architecture tools such as LeanIX, Ardoq, MEGA, or Sparx EA.

TOGAF certification (mandatory or strongly preferred).
Preferred Qualifications

Cloud architecture certifications (AWS Architect, Azure Architect, or equivalent).

Experience in digital transformation, core banking modernization, or cloud migration initiatives.

Exposure to AI/ML applications, enterprise risk frameworks, cybersecurity, and data governance.

Experience working in agile and DevSecOps environments within regulated industries.
Additional Screening Criteria (Client-Specific Requirements)

Strong and recent experience in core banking environments (avoid primarily financial services or non-core financial institutions).

Recent project consistency of at least 2.5–3 years; job hoppers will not be considered.

Candidates must have been in their current role for a minimum of 8 months.

Majority of recent projects should be with core banking institutions.

Prefer candidates with Enterprise Architect titles; Solution Architect profiles may be considered if combined with Enterprise Architecture experience.

Avoid candidates with primarily core data management/engineering backgrounds; strong full-stack application architecture background is required.

Willingness to relocate to the client location is mandatory. No back-and-forth or remote commuting arrangements will be considered.
