IT Endpoint Support / Desktop Support InternshipScot Forge Company is looking to hire one IT Endpoint Support / Desktop Support and Operations Intern for the Summer of 2027 at the corporate facility in Spring Grove, IL. This internship will provide exposure to an IT team supporting a manufacturing environment through tickets, endpoint support, and infrastructure work.
Potential Team Tasks and Project ExamplesWork may include self-directed projects with mentor check-ins, pairing with an owner, or shadowing to learn a system. Some examples of work include the following.
- Deploying, configuring, and lifecycle management of computers, mobile devices, and other IT equipment
- Troubleshooting issues including hardware, software, network, and user-access
- Participating in initiatives involving networking hardware, wireless networks, cloud services, and other enterprise technologies
- Helping with IT asset management, system configuration, and equipment lifecycles including related documentation and support procedures
- Testing prospective IT tools and technologies, automating existing tasks, and other greenfield work
Qualifications- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Networking, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
- Rising Sophomore or higher at the start of the internship
Required Skills and Experience- Hands-on experience with computer hardware or operating systems (for example, Windows, macOS, or Linux)
- Basic networking concepts (for example, IP addressing, DNS, or DHCP)
- Comfort independently researching technical questions, troubleshooting, and documenting findings
Preferred Skills and Experience- Troubleshooting across hardware, software, and networking services
- Microsoft 365 or other SaaS applications
- Public cloud environments (for example, Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform)
- Scripting or automation (for example, PowerShell, Python, or Bash)
- Virtualization, monitoring, device management, or IT service-management tools
- IT certifications (for example, CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or Cisco)

The estimated pay range for this position is the lowest and highest range we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We ultimately may pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. The actual base pay offered to a candidate will depend on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, seniority, geographic location and prevailing minimum wage, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs.
