This position is a member of our External Relations Division.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Participate in developing, evaluating, and maintaining the information architecture of agency websites to ensure goaloriented, taskbased navigation for multiple audiences. Research and analyze web statistics and trends to assist with navigation planning and developing content strategies. Contribute to usability assessments of websites and applications by generating reports and data to make recommendations.
  • Coordinate with agency program staff and management to create or maintain systems for organizing and classifying information, including the use of search engines to pull information from such collections. Work with staff to use and troubleshoot software tools that send subscription email and text messages or surveys.
  • Keep abreast of web analytics issues. Work with coworkers to continuously review and update the agency's web publishing standards and guidelines and related division operating procedures. Conduct and assist in developing agency training and education regarding use of analytics, search engine optimization, and related web topics. Make presentations to staff at various organizational levels.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience analyzing web statistics and trends to support navigation planning and content strategy development.
  • Experience collecting and analyzing data using analytic software, such as Google Analytics or Data Studio.
  • Experience using SEO principles to organize and classify information to improve search results on publicfacing websites.
  • Experience working with a UX team to contribute to the usability of websites and applications with targeted reports and data.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Four years of fulltime experience in data analysis, data research, data compilation; and/or reporting work.

OR

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in engineering, basic science, computer science, environmental science, mathematics, statistics or a related field; plus two years of the required experience.

OR

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; plus, three years of the required experience.

Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. See Tex. Business & Commerce Code Section 117.001(2). Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.

Work Schedule

Standard business hours are MF, 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
