Principal Product Manager – Data Governance & Metadata

Location: California

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of product management experience in software, enterprise technology, or data platforms.
• Experience managing products end-to-end including strategy, roadmap, backlog, delivery, and launch.
• Strong knowledge of design thinking and human-centered product methodologies.
• Experience with enterprise data governance, metadata, lineage, data quality, or catalog platforms.
• Hands-on experience with tools like Collibra, Alation, Informatica, dbt, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of data governance, stewardship, metadata, lineage, and enterprise data ecosystems.
• Ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders and influence teams without direct authority.
• Experience using AI tools such as LLMs, Claude, or GitHub Copilot in product management workflows.
• Strong communication, presentation, and executive stakeholder management skills.
• Experience evaluating enterprise data tools and buy-vs-build product decisions.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience in financial services or regulated industries with exposure to compliance, privacy, audit, and data retention requirements.
