Job Description
We are sourcing experienced software engineers with strong expertise in modern C++ development on Linux systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with pub/sub infrastructure, protobuf/nano protobuf, DDS, and embedded systems communication. Candidates should have real production software experience and be comfortable reasoning through unfamiliar technical problems in live discussions.
Key Skills
- Strong expertise in modern C++ development on Linux systems and backend cloud systems.
- Hands-on experience in pub/sub infrastructure including Kafka, RabbitMQ, and topic partitioning.
- Hands-on experience with protobuf/nano protobuf and Data Distribution Service (DDS).
- Experience with large-scale codebases, version control such as Git, and software development workflows.
- Good understanding of embedded systems and communication protocols including Ethernet and CAN.
Required Qualifications
- MS/BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze requirements and propose technical solutions.
- Real production software experience designing, owning, or debugging a non-trivial component of a real system.
- Fluent spoken English and willingness to think out loud during live technical discussions.
Additional Skills
- Problem-solving ability on unfamiliar ground.
- Ability to ask clarifying questions, state assumptions, form and revise hypotheses, and make progress with incomplete information.
- Ability to hold a technical conversation and reason in real time.
- Experience working with systems that ran in production, had users, and failed in interesting ways.
